SUMMARY OF EXPERTISE
As a Councillor with the City of Holdfast Bay for 11 years, I have successfully used my skills to resolve issues with ratepayers and explain Council policies and procedures.

My experience and ability in completing tasks and resolving issues within a team environment has stood me in good stead at Council.
I represented Council on and was Chairperson of the Holdfast Bay Community Centre during a difficult relocation. In recognition of my role in overseeing the setting up of the Centre and working with volunteer organizations I received a Council award.
As a Councillor I am a member of the Development Assessment Panel and involved in dealing with planning applications and am Chairman of the Social and Organisation Committee which deals with community development, library services, governance and HR.
The Bay Discovery Advisory Committee, which I chair, advises Council on the function and performance of the Bay Discovery Centre, an interpretive museum run by two staff and eighty plus volunteers.

I am also Chairman of the Environmental Advisory Committee, which comprises of 8 community members, four staff and four Councillors. The committee has advised on the development of an environmental management plan for the city of Holdfast Bay as well as many environmental issues.
My varied life and work experiences have given me the ability to adjust quickly to change, relate to people from all walks of life with their variety of situations and needs and practice the art of listening.
Completing a task to the best of my ability is the only way I can enjoy my work, whether in a professional or domestic situation. Working within a team of similar minded professionals is my ideal situation.
